There are two distinct parts to the mould eradication process and both are undertaken simultaneously.
1. Inspect for Mould
Our initial inspection aims to reveal the reasons for the mould growth - generally either an increase in moisture caused by a defined event like a burst pipe, a flood etc. or an increase in internal moisture (humidity) caused by a lack of ventilation. To discover the reason for the mould we have to identify where the presence of moisture or a lack of ventilation is occurring and we do this with moisture detectors, infrared cameras and even inspection cameras. Our inspection will also aim to reveal all areas of visible mould growth.
2. Reverse the cause of the Mould Growth
A typical mould clean up firstly involves locating and eradicating the causes of the mould growth from the property. This will involve a combination of drying out the affected area of the property, sealing the leaks (if any), and/or increasing the indoor ventilation in the dwelling through mechanical means if required. Using all of these processes at our disposal, you can be assured that we can rectify and adjust the climate which has caused the mould growth, so that once we remove the existing mould, it will not regenerate. Guaranteed.
3. Mould Remediation
Once we have determined the causes of the fungal growth found in the dwelling, the next step in the process is to clean both:
the visible mould from problem areas
and invisible mould from the dwelling.
Our air scrubbers or cleansers operate throughout the mould cleaning process.
i) Removing visible mould
This is achieved through a program of physical scrubbing using anti-microbial cleaning agents designed to destroy and remove mould, 'fogging' of the indoor atmosphere with a vapour which will permeate all areas of the dwelling, porous cellulose surfaces and areas which cannot be reached by hand. In more extreme cases, we can use dry ice cleaning equipment and/or pressure washing equipment to remove visible mould. Our air scrubbers (pictured below) will remove all invisible mould spores from the indoor atmosphere during the mould clean up procedure.
ii) Removing invisible mould
Invisible mould growth (mould growth hidden behind plaster, under timber structures etc.) is treated with our fogging equipment and ozone generating machines which permeate all cracks and crevisses which cannot be physically reached by hand. Mould spores are another version of invisible mould - being minute non visible particles found in household dust - and mould spores can be quite debilitating for those with respiratory ailments. Our air-scrubbers (pictured below) purify the air and capture airborne mould spores.
